Mark Dykes is a Shareholder in the firm's Litigation and Environmental, Energy & Natural Resources Departments.  He participates in business litigation, Chapter 11 bankruptcy related litigation, complex liability insurance coverage cases, and advises and represents the electric utility industry and entities with interests in that industry in a wide variety of matters, including the drafting of coal supply, transportation, and by-products agreements, extensive stray-voltage litigation, disputes over power-supply contracts, including all-requirements agreements, the rejection or attempted rejection of executory fuel and transportation contracts in Chapter 11, and the financial reorganization of electric utilities.


Mr. Dykes graduated with a J.D. degree in 1987 from the University of California at Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law. In 1983, he received a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the College of Idaho. Mark was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1987 and the Colorado State Bar in 1989. He is a member of the litigation and bankruptcy sections of the Utah State Bar, and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Utah College of Law, where he has taught insurance law.  He has also lectured and published in the fields of bankruptcy and insurance law.
