Laura Scott is a primary member of the Construction and Real Estate Litigation Group, where she devotes a significant part of her practice to real estate litigation and banking litigation. Her experience covers a broad array of disputes and substantive issues, including foreclosures, title disputes, easements, wrongful liens, boundary disputes, condemnations, partitions, fraudulent transfers, lender liability claims and landlord/tenant disputes. Ms. Scott also regularly advises title insurance companies on coverage issues, including the duty to defend, policy conditions and exceptions, reservations of rights and bad faith.

Ms. Scott is also a member of the Employment Law department and maintains an active practice advising employers and handling lawsuits on almost all aspects of employment law, including employment issues uniquely related to health care and public employees. She gained substantial experience as in-house counsel for the University of Utah, where she was actively involved defending discrimination claims, drafting policies and procedures, training administrators and faculty members on FMLA, reasonable accommodations, discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
