Brent R. Baker Salt Lake City, Utah
Brent Baker is a member of the Litigation department and the firm's Securities Litigation Group. Mr. Baker's practice focuses on corporate internal investigations and on representing corporate and individual clients in white collar regulatory enforcement and litigation matters in court and before the U.S. Department of Justice, the SEC and other federal and state agencies. Mr. Baker has also represented broker-dealers, investment advisors and individual registered representatives before the SEC and National Association of Securities Dealers.
With his litigation and mediation experience as a top defense attorney and former Special Counsel at the SEC, Mr. Baker has the expertise to represent and conduct internal investigations for public companies. As a former Special Counsel at the SEC, he prosecuted a wide range of securities violations, and also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Baker also has substantial experience counseling financial services entities on anti-money laundering (AML) issues.
Before joining Parsons Behle & Latimer, he was Deputy General Counsel at Overstock.com, Inc. (NasdaqNM:OSTK).
