Government Relations & Lobbying
Parsons Behle & Latimer not only assists clients in complying with the law, we help shape it.
Government relations attorneys and professionals in the firm provide clients with timely information and a full range of services, as well as an influential voice with legislators and state and local government officials. We are able to do so because our government relations practice is built around a core of attorneys and other professionals who bring their diverse political backgrounds and familiarity with day-to-day legislative processes to bear on their work on behalf of clients. Clients draw upon the expertise of attorneys and professionals in specific practice areas such as tax, environmental, communications, human resources, energy, public lands, water law and myriad other areas to provide a team well-versed in the substantive areas of law and governmental process.
Together, our government relations professionals are adept at building coalitions of individual companies and associations with common interests, monitoring general legislative or regulatory activities and representing the general interests of specific clients before governmental bodies.
Because we take a proactive rather than a reactive approach to government, our clients receive advance notice of legislative and regulatory proposals that may dramatically impact their businesses and are able to communicate their interests to legislators early on in the process.
