Parsons Behle & Latimer's 24th Annual Employment Law Seminar will be held at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

 

The seminar begins at 8:00 a.m. with an update on Utah employment law, followed by three breakout sessions at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Speakers will present different sessions from which you can choose, addressing topics such as classifying workers as independent contractors, social media in the workplace, immigration compliance, health care regulations, update on employment laws, protecting trade secrets, new legislation affecting employers, sex discrimination laws, issues with co-employment, and creating a total rewards package for employees. Lunch with keynote speaker Spencer P. Eccles Jr., executive director of the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development, will be provided at noon.

Parsons Behle & Latimer shareholders have elected the firm's 2012 Board of Directors. Raymond J. Etcheverry will continue serving as chairman of the board, president and CEO. Hal J. Pos is vice-chairman, vice president and treasurer. Laura S. Scott and Michael R. Kealy are vice presidents. Michael P. Petrogeorge is newly elected to the Board and serves as vice president and secretary.

Parsons Behle & Latimer president and CEO Raymond J. Etcheverry announced on November 1st that the Salt Lake City-based law firm has merged the practice of Boise-based intellectual property and litigation law firm Zarian Midgley & Johnson, adding 14 lawyers (including 12 registered patent attorneys) and establishing a major new office in Boise, Idaho.

Attorneys joining Parsons Behle & Latimer as shareholders are John Zarian, Peter Midgley, Rex Johnson and Brook Bond. Attorneys Chris Cuneo, James Lake, David McKinney and Leslie Murray join the firm as Of Counsel. Jamie Ellsworth, Dana Herberholz, Benjamin Hoopes and Kennedy Luvai join as associates. They will continue to practice in their offices at 960 Broadway Avenue, Suite 250 in Boise.
