Geoffrey W. Mangum is a shareholder and chair of the Corporate and Tax department, where he concentrates his practice on corporate and commercial matters, with an emphasis on negotiating and structuring complex business transactions. Mr. Mangum has also advised a variety of companies on co-branding identity issues, including co-branded credit and loyalty card programs and in-store banking agreements between banks and retailers.

Until its acquisition by Albertson's, Inc., Mr. Mangum was an executive with American Stores Company, a Fortune 400 Company, responsible for business unit acquisitions and dispositions. As legal counsel to the company's treasury department, Mr. Mangum was also involved in negotiating and documenting complex financing arrangements. Prior to joining American Stores Company, he was a shareholder in the law firm of Prince Yeates & Geldzahler.

Mr. Mangum also advises companies and executives on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance issues and on export compliance issues posed by the U.S. government's Export Administration regulations and International Traffic in Arms regulations.

Finally, Mr. Mangum led the successful conclusion of 13 years of litigation and negotiations on behalf of his client, Christensen, Inc., against the Islamic Republic of Iran, arising out of Iran's seizure of Christensen's Iranian subsidiary following the Ayatollah Khomeini's rise to power.

Mr. Mangum frequently lectures on a wide variety of corporate and business related topics. In 2012, He was listed as a Top Lawyer Named by Their Peers and in Mountain States Super Lawyers. He has also been recognized by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah's "Legal Elite," is ranked as one of the Best Lawyers in America, published by Woodward/White Inc., maintains a top ranking by Chambers & Partners Client Guide and maintains Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating, an AV.

Mr. Mangum graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1976 with a B.A. in economics and received his juris doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C.
