Alan Mouritsen is a member of the firm’s Litigation department and concentrates his practice on appeals, intellectual property, administrative law, and products liability litigation.  Before joining Parsons Behle & Latimer, Alan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jay S. Bybee of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.     

Alan received his B.A. in political science and Russian literature from Pomona College in 2006, graduating cum laude.  He received his J.D., with distinction, from Stanford Law School in 2009.  While at Stanford, Alan was an articles editor on the Stanford Law Review, a member of the Stanford Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, and a quarterfinalist in the Kirkwood Moot Court Competition.  As a member of the Stanford Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, Alan helped write the petition for certiorari in Cone v. Bell, 129 S. Ct. 1769 (2009), and the opening and reply briefs in Meacham v. Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, 128 S. Ct. 2395 (2008).  In both cases the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Clinic’s clients.  Alan was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2011.
