John R. Zimmerman is a member of the Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources department, where he practices primarily in the area of water law. He is involved in governmental permitting and licensing of water projects and due diligence analysis of water rights and related land matters. In addition, he represents mining clients in asset purchase transactions, the formation of joint ventures, drafting and negotiating mining agreements, and in conducting day-to-day exploration, development, and mining activities. John represents both small and large mining companies and has been involved in several multi-million dollar transactions in the United States. John's experience has encompassed a wide range of matters involving water, mining, and land resources, and he has extensive experience in state administrative law.
Prior to joining Parsons Behle & Latimer in 2006, John served as a clerk to State District Court Judge David R. Gamble from August, 2005 to August, 2006. In law school, John was legal extern to Nevada Supreme Court Justice (then Judge) Michael L. Douglas in the Eighth Judicial District Court (Clark County, Nevada).
